Haus Elsäßer

The pretty half-timbered house at Hauptstrasse No. 10 (renovated in 1984) belonged to the parents of Simon Elsaesser, parson in Moeckmuehl between 1637 and 1669. He was later, until 1671, superintendent in Neuenstadt. After 1662 he had the title of “Praelat von Murrhardt” (prelate of Murrhardt). His father, the cloth-maker Simon Elsaesser had built the house in 1610.The ground floor was originally part of an older building. The coat of arms on a beam shows the symbol of his trade (scissors -Tuchschere – and a hook – Scherhaken)
